Deepend Appoints New Head Of Tech

Full service digital agency Deepend has appointed Morteza Jalali to head of technical development.

Jalali’s assignment to head up the department comes as part of a broader initiative, ensuring the continued excellence of the Technical Development Team.

Jalali’s reputation has been built on fifteen years of digital leadership and innovation across Australia and the Middle East, bringing a wealth of experience and talent to Deepend and its sister agencies which comprise the Deepend Group. The strengthened positioning within the organisation will future proof Deepend’s creative and strategic output for a rapidly changing agency landscape, with complex technical needs evolving across multi-layered digital projects.

Jalali will be integral in providing leadership and driving Deepend’s software development processes, ensuring Deepend continue to implement innovative digital solutions to an award-winning standard.

Prior to joining Deepend, Jalali was the technical lead and solution architect at the Australian Red Cross, before which he was the Software Consultant at ASX:DWS, one of Australia’s leading software development houses.

Throughout his extensive career, Jalali has successfully designed and implemented complex service oriented architecture (SOA, EMB, ESB) for business critical problems, such as “Payment Gateway” solutions. Jalali has also designed production environments that would not only cover the functional requirements, but also the non-functional requirements which enhance the end-user’s experience.

These include issues such as high availability, scalability, maintainability and security. His extensive experience has spanned multiple industries including IT Development and Consultancy, Telecommunications, Electronics, Construction, Government and non-profit organisations.

Speaking of his appointment, Jalali said: “I am thrilled to be appointed to this position and be able to contribute to the future direction and offering of Deepend. Within the agency and across the wider group, I am consistently surrounded by forward thinking and enthusiastic professionals with unrivalled experience in the digital industry. The professional resources we have in the Technical Development department are among the best I’ve ever seen; it is a privilege to work alongside and oversee such an innovative team.”

Matt Griffin, founder and executive director of Deepend, said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Morteza to Deepend. He was a clear choice to lead our Technical Development department; the vast scope of his experience encompasses an exceptional mix of technical knowledge and digital innovation.  Throughout his career, Morteza has frequently demonstrated his multi-faceted technical ability and clear leadership skills. He will make an incredible addition to Deepend and the overall Deepend Group as we continue to expand our innovation offering rooted in core technical capability.”
