Following the announcement last week that Match Media had won the total NRMA Motoring services account, Match has now been appointed by Michael Cassel Group to launch its newest production, Kinky Boots.
The account, billing $5million, was won following a pitch against five other agencies and will include media strategy, planning and buying across all channels, plus social and analytics. Creative Oasis has been appointed as the creative agency.
The Michael Cassel Group was formed to produce and present prestige theatrical productions; to create and develop exciting new live entertainment experiences and to present marquee events and concert attractions. The company exclusively represents theatre producer Cameron Mackintosh and his productions in Australia.
Current productions include Les Misérables and Singin’ In The Rain. The feel-good, multi award-winning musical Kinky Boots will make its Australian premiere at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne from October 2016. The show features a book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, music and lyrics by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell.
Julie Ott, head of marketing at Michael Cassel Group, said of the appointment, “Match stood out from the pitch list. Their ideas were big and socially driven, plus their data driven approach to understanding our target audience was also a big differentiator.”
James Simmons, COO at Match Media added, “The team are delighted to be working with the Michael Cassel Group and specifically Kinky Boots. Theatre is an incredibly exciting category with interesting nuances and we can’t wait to start selling tickets, and see the show.”
