Hypetap Appoints Nuffnang’s Chris Morfis As GM

Influencer marketing player Hypetap has made its second senior hire in less than a month, appointing Chris Morfis as the company’s general manager.

Joining from influencer marketing provider Nuffnang Australia, Morfis will guide Hypetap’s growing team, providing strategic direction to accelerate the company’s growth, as well as leading operations and managing relationships with key partners.

Morfis’ appointment will be the first of a number of hires from Nuffnang.

He joins Hypetap joins with over two decades of experience in advertising and publishing. Prior to his role as Nuffnang’s managing director, Morfis was the GM at travel media publishing agency Ink.

He also previously spent time as the publishing director at Jetstar, and has held a variety of roles at the likes of ACP Magazines, Fairfax Media and the Buchanan Group.

The appointment marks Hypetap’s second senior hire in less than a month, having recently appointed Unruly’s Nick Robson as commercial director along with Naz Fathi as sales manager as the company opens its second Australian office in Sydney.

Hypetap co-founder and CEO Detch Singh said said it was an exciting time for the company.

“We’re growing incredibly fast, we’re partnering with many of Australia’s biggest brands and agencies, and we’re hiring some of the country’s strongest talent in influencer marketing,” he said.

“As we look forward to a massive 2018, Chris and the team place us in a strong position to bolster delivery of our campaigns and be a clear, data-led market leader in the new year.”

Commenting on his new role, Morfit said: “Hypetap is leading the future of influencer marketing. The company’s focus on data and technology to deliver sophisticated campaigns for brands is really what drew me to Hypetap.

“The industry is changing. Brands are becoming more discerning, as there is an increased emphasis on brand safety and transparency of data.

“When selecting partners, brands are looking for providers that can deliver in these two areas. Hypetap is leading the industry in these aspects, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”

Morfit will join Hypetap next month and be based at the company’s Melbourne office.
