Kim Kardashian has been at the centre of an ongoing fragrance feud thanks the shape of her new perfume bottle.
‘KKW Body’ has been modelled off Kardashian’s own figure, however, the bottle is being criticised by both Jean-Paul Jean Paul Gaultier as well as the estate of Schiaparelli because of its similarities to their bottles.
To launch the new bottle, Kardashian posted a series of nude photos to Instagram and then an image of the KKW Body bottle.
Speaking about the bottle, Kardashian openly said in an interview, “I love the Jean Paul Gaultier bottle and I totally get the reference. And I knew people would say that, but I just love [my perfume bottle] so much…I thought it was just really fitting for me, personally.”
Adding, “I feel like I’m in the best shape that I’ve ever been in…So even though I didn’t prep specifically for this shoot, it paid off. If this had been a year ago, I wouldn’t have felt this comfortable doing it.”
Critics were quick to accuse Kardashian of copyright, drawing parallels between Gaultier’s 1993 fragrance, which was inspired by Schiaparelli 1937 scent.
Now, both brands have taken to Instagram to subtly criticise the reality star, and users are loving it.

On this day – April 29th, 1937 – Schiaparelli launched what would become her most successful and legendary fragrance, “Shocking”. The bottle – designed by artist Leonor Fini – represents a dressmaker’s dummy following the curves of Hollywood icon Mae West, decorated with melted glass and porcelain flowers and a measuring tape in trompe l’œil forming a V-neck décolletage sealed by a “S”. The fragrance was created by master-nose, Jean Carles. “Shocking” was a favorite of Frida Kahlo, Marlene Dietrich, Rita Hayworth, Jayne Mansfield, Ginger Rogers, Mae West, and many other women in the world. #Shocking #Schiaparelli #original #first
