JigSpace Featured As Snap Lens Partner As Augmented Reality Meets Utility

JigSpace’s ‘How to Jig’ Lens has been featured at the Snap Partner Summit, as Snap and JigSpace team up to bring interactive 3D experiences into everyday life.

The combination of JigSpace’s 3D-presentation capabilities with Snap’s powerful new 3D Lens and scanning technology is unlocking the utility of augmented reality, as hundreds of millions of Snapchatters can now easily build delightful 3D experiences.

“Today’s launch marks a new level of convergence of the physical and digital worlds – that we have been excited about for years. We’re thrilled to be one of the first Lens partners utilizing Snap’s powerful Scan technology, as an important step forward to building a world where everyone has the ability to Scan the environment and have access to the contextual knowledge and instructions to make their lives better,” said Zac Duff, Co-founder and CEO, JigSpace (pictured left with co-founder Numa Bertron).

“Our mission is for Jigs to be everywhere and accessible to everyone. Our partnership with Snap opens up a whole new world of 3D possibilities and the potential to reach and impact hundreds of millions of Snapchatters. What we saw in today’s presentation is just the tip of the iceberg – in the future you’ll be able to look at every object as a Jig,” continued Duff.

The launch is a validation of the strong commercial use case for augmented reality, as JigSpace and Snap take augmented reality lenses beyond communication and into utility.

Snap’s new 3D Lens and scanning technology opens up a whole new world of 3D possibilities, as Snap’s new visual classification brings the same technology that powers Scan into Lenses, allowing Snapchatters to understand more than 500 categories of objects.

The How To Jig Lens is available from today, more information is available here.
