An image in the latest catalogue for U.S. department store JCPenny is causing some Twitter users to see blood red over a white skirt with a strategically placed large fuschia-colored flower.

An Imgur user pointed out that the flower could be mistaken for a blood stain, it has since been dubbed the “period skirt”. The caption read: “really could’ve picked a better place for that flower design….”

@TheWoodyShow lmao! Aunt Flo is visiting and she looks pissed!

— Sara Miller (@ShojoAIE) April 6, 2016

@TheWoodyShow lol can I get a discount because it’s stained? ?

— Miss Linayao (@lindsey_duz_it) April 6, 2016

JCPenney cheekily responded on Twitter:

We think it’s a fab skirt for any time of the month. Period. https://t.co/rCAjNiEw5Z https://t.co/0Zdzo1aWbs
