Two former Edelman consultants today launched Forge Communications, a new communications and reputation management consultancy to serve Australian clients. Forge Communications will harness the power of narratives to build and protect reputations and to mutually benefit clients and society.
Forge is the joint creation of former Edelman Managing Director, Scott Thomson (pictured right), and senior consultant, Amy Watson (pictured left). Scott joined Edelman London in 2002, and held leadership posts in Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific. Amy joined Edelman Canada in 2017 and moved with the firm back to her native Australia in 2019.
Amy and Scott have helped build and protect the reputations of some of the world’s most valuable brands and advised clients on some of the most high-profile crises of the past decade.
“It’s a tough environment today for building and sustaining brand reputations,” Scott commented. “Leaders are looking for smart and adaptable advisors who they can trust to understand their unique circumstances, act in their best interests, and help them stay on the front foot.”
Responsible business practices will be a core part of the new firm’s ethos. “We’re inspired by businesses that are stepping up to the plate and addressing the big issues of the day,” Amy said. “We want Forge to play a part, which is why we’re signing up to the 1% for the Planet initiative and dedicating a minimum of one day per employee per quarter to volunteering in the community.”
“With Forge, we’re excited to have the latitude to create the culture we want, partner with clients we admire and do meaningful work that makes a difference,” Scott concluded. “The momentum we’re already seeing shows there’s great demand in the market for our brand of consulting.”
