Fairfax event, the Night Noodle Markets, is coming to Canberra for the first time in late-February 2015.
Joining Canberra’s annual outdoor art and cultural festival, Enlighten, The Enlighten Night Noodle Markets will be held over 10 nights in the nation’s capital from 27 February to 8 March near Old Parliament House and Lake Burley Griffin.
Crowds of more that 150,000 will be invited to join in the festival fun and enjoy Asian delights from pork buns and steamed dumplings to pan fried gyoza.
The celebration of fantastic food and produce from around the region will continue during March as three favourite features of the Canberra Times Good Food Month presented by Citi, return with Let’s Do Lunch, Hats Off Dinners and Drink and Dine.
Let’s Do Lunch offers a great-priced set lunch with a matched drink; Hats Off Dinners are a chance for The Good Food Guide hatted chefs to get extra creative and create one-off menus; Drink and Dine is all about the drinks from wine to cider to craft beer to champagne.
This is just a taster of the full Canberra Times Good Food Month presented by Citi, which will take place alongside Enlighten in March 2016.
Canberra’s restaurants, cafes, bars and producers are encouraged to secure their place in Good Food Month Feature Events and the Enlighten Night Noodle Markets as exciting new editions to the Enlighten Festival.
Good Food Month destival director Joanna Savill said she is delighted to once again be championing Canberra’s regional produce as well as bringing the Night Noodle Markets to Enlighten.
“Set amongst our national institutions, the Night Noodle Markets are the perfect showcase of Canberra’s diverse food culture, which brings produce from around the region to create dishes from across the globe,” Savill said.
Australian capital tourism and events minister, Andrew Barr MLA is equality passionate about growing the food festival offering in Canberra as a part of Enlighten Festival.
“The Night Noodle Markets are a welcome addition to the Enlighten event. They will provide an extra region for both interstate visitors and locals to attend this growing event while sampling the essence of the Canberra region’s food and wine experiences.”
