Dentsu Aegis Network agency dentsu X has retained Australia Post’s media agency account, as well as extended the business’ scope of work.

The agency’s remit now encompasses all strategy, planning, trading and investment, performance, and social media for Australia Post.

Angela Tangas, national managing director of dentsu X Australia, said: “The evolution of our partnership with Australia Post is testament to the strength of our client relationship, capability of the team, application of creative commercial thinking, and exceptional value that we have and will continue to provide to this great partnership.

“We’re thrilled to be building on our relationship with Australia Post and are excited to work with our agency partners to help Australia Post go beyond media by focusing on solutions that realise lifetime customer value.”

Andrea Pearman, general manager marketing and community at Australia Post, said: “dentsu X has continued to impress us with their flexible approach, high-performing team, and commitment to understanding our business and our customers across all our segments.

“We’re pleased to be continuing our longstanding partnership with the team.”

The account is led out of Melbourne by Michelle O’Brien, and its retention signifies a pivotal period for dentsu X in Australia.

Under the new leadership of Angela Tangas, the structure of the business has been reviewed to best deliver against its proposition and commitment to offer to cross-channel specialisation and expertise to deliver value throughout and beyond the customer journey.

Accordingly, O’Brien has been promoted to head of client solutions, and Sam Cousins has been promoted to head of strategy and planning.

“During such a transformative time for the business, I’m proud to recognise the ongoing achievements and commitment of both Michelle and Sam by promoting them into these two new leadership roles,” Tangas said.

“Both leaders have exceptional and complementary expertise. With a shared focus on optimising the power of Dentsu Aegis Network, I’m excited about our future focused on delivering valuable, personalised experiences for current and future client partners.”
