Dating App Thanks Masturbators For Resisting Lockdown Sex In Colourful New Campaign

British-based dating app Badoo has created a series of ads to celebrate the nation’s masturbators who have selflessly resisted the call to have sex during the global pandemic.

According to research by the company, some 37 per cent of singletons admitted they had masturbated more than usual during lockdown – an average of once a day, every week, from March 23rd until now.

The campaign is the work of London-based agency The Romans who worked with illustrator, Alice Skinner, to create the colourful collection of illustrations, evoking an almost dogged WW2 spirit encouraging masturbation and solo sex – with slogans including “Flick For Victory” and “Make Do and Masturbate”.

The campaign will feature on billboards, fly posters across London and on the company’s social media.

Commenting on the work, Badoo’s UK marketing director Natasha Briefel said: “We know being single in lockdown has been tough for many, so wanted to find a fun and playful way to open up an honest conversation about masturbation and solo sex, while saying thank you to those who have avoided temptation to break the rules.

“We’ve seen lots of great connections being made during this period of digital courtship in lockdown, so want to encourage our users to be kind to one another, chat, meet and date honestly and safely when they’re comfortable doing so,” Briefel added.
