Crowdfunding Campaign Strips Away Labels And Clothes

A new crowdfunding campaign by Adelaide visual artist Amy Hermann aims to strip labels off women – to celebrate the diversity of all that is female.

The “Underneath We Are…”  campaign is set up a Pozible page and asks people to pledge money so Hermann can photograph 100 women stripped to their undies.

“Underneath, we are … young, fat, tall, we are trans, skinny, disabled, we are mothers, we are short, scarred and old,” the campaign reads. “We are the many labels that society has created for us. But what if I told you that underneath, underneath it all … We are women.

1434521406 (1)“The aim is to photograph 100 women. Women of all walks of life, shapes, sizes and age. AND, photograph them in nothing but their underwear. Yep, thats right, I’ll be asking 100 women to bare (almost) all, with the end goal of showcasing the amazing diversity that is the female form!

“Education is the key to giving women and men a better understanding and appreciation for the ways the female body grows, shapes and changes over time and with different life experiences,” she wrote.

As of 5pm yesterday, over $3,000 had been pledged to Hermann’s project.
