Crime analytics and software company Wynyard Group, has appointed international marketer and strategist Ian Scherger to the position of chief marketing officer (CMO).
Scherger will be a key member of Wynyard’s global executive team. Craig Richardson, Wynyard Group CEO said Wynyard sought a technology leader with a track record of global success and scale to lead its marketing strategy and help drive Wynyard’s international growth.

“Ian has been involved with Wynyard since the beginning in an advisory capacity and now he will play a direct role as part of our executive team in driving our momentum, brand and product through our next exciting growth phase,” said Richardson.
Scherger has more than two decades’ industry experience leading sales and marketing functions focussed on growing some of the world’s best-known technology brands. Working across a broad range of leadership positions including business development, marketing, product management, business transformation and digital marketing – Scherger brings a perspective that extends beyond traditional marketing.
Past roles include executive positions at Vodafone Australia, Clear Communications, Telecom XTRA and Apple. In addition to executive leadership positions, Scherger has been a key advisor to numerous innovation driven businesses on business strategy, brand development and marketing strategy.

A former board member of Vodafone Australia, in addition to his business management and marketing qualifications, Scherger also holds a degree in Computer Science with experience in business systems and software design including time spent working on banking systems for the deregulation of the London Stock Exchange.
Scherger starts his new role at Wynyard in December 2014.
