Campaign: MasterChef’s Poh Partners With Malaysia Airlines For New Video Series

Australians are being invited to take an inspiring journey to the heart of Malaysia alongside best-selling author and MasterChef sensation Poh Ling Yeow, with the popular celebrity cook set to launch an exciting new video series in partnership with Malaysia Airlines.

Showcasing Kuala Lumpur’s best foodie hotspots, Poh’s favourite shopping haunts and the thriving street market scene, the five-part documentary gives viewers the inside scoop on all the experiences and hidden secrets that give the sultry capital its unique appeal.

A recent addition to the Malaysia Airlines team as the first-ever ambassador for the world-class carrier in the region, Poh said each episode of the series covers a different part of the journey to bustling Kuala Lumpur – the city where she was born and raised for the first nine years of her life.

She begins by taking to the skies onboard Malaysia Airlines’ world class A330-300, before heading to the city to explore the myriad of colourful hawker stalls in the heart of Bukit Bintang and sample fresh Durian. Poh also goes behind the scenes to witness how Malaysia Airlines produces an amazing 26,000 satay sticks a day by hand in a special tour of their local catering headquarters.

Throughout her trip, Poh said she wanted to highlight how seriously the Malaysians take their food and why the city manages to surprise her on every visit.

“Being a wonderful melting-pot of cultures, Kuala Lumpur offers amazingly diverse styles of food from world-class dining to old school Chinese Malaysian cafes, and it is a must-visit for any globetrotting foodie, perfect for a quick stop over or exotic holiday,” Poh said.

The video series comes in the wake of the recent launch of Poh’s sizzling new Signature Dish for Malaysia Airlines – a Nyonya Chicken Curry with a roti style croissant – which is available on Malaysia Airlines flights departing Australia until 28 February 2015.

There are now 81 flights a week direct to Malaysia from Australia and New Zealand with Kuala Lumpur the hub to more than 60 destinations worldwide. Malaysia Airlines operates the state of the art A380 double daily to London and daily to Paris.
