Following significant expansion over the past six months, communications and PR agency Fifty Acres has extended services to Byron Bay this week with the launch of its new office in the town centre.

Fifty Acres is dedicated to furthering the impact of not-for-profits (NFPs), government agencies and corporates across Australia, said managing director Jo Scard at the office launch.

“We’ve been increasingly working with clients in the region, including NSW Health and large not-for-profits,” she said.

“It’s great to now be here on the ground and open our doors to local organisations, many of whom are doing some great grassroots and innovative work.”

Winner of the Public Relations category at B&T’s Women in Media Awards 2017, Scard has lead Fifty Acres to double in size. The agency has teams in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Queensland, regional Australia, and now in northern NSW.

Scard credited Fifty Acres’ success to the team’s passion and ability to exceed clients’ expectations.

“We are absolutely committed to being innovative communications experts, and importantly, tailoring our work to the for-purpose sector,” she said.

“We come from a background of working with charities and government, and are very familiar with the significant changes funding, service delivery and government relations.

“It’s imperative more than ever that traditional services start engaging their clients in new and interactive ways. It’s also increasingly important for charities to build their voice among corporate Australia and government.”

More than 80 of Byron’s hottest local talent from the social impact sector attended the office launch, including national and local organisations working in health and wellbeing, innovation and social services.

“Look, it’s great to bring social enterprises, NFPs and government agencies together and look at how we can maximise impact through strategic communications,” Scard said.

“Since the get-go, we’ve really focused on flexible and collaborative working relations to agenda new solutions that we can test, rework and scale up as we go.

“Kicking off with a celebration of live music, good food and knowledge-sharing is a great start, and we hope to do a lot more of it over the years to come.”
