August Joins SoDA And BCorp Off The Back Of New Business Wins

Independent agency, August, has recently become a certified B Corporation, and joins the Society of Digital Agencies (SoDA) by full membership vote.

These announcements coincide with a sequence of recent new business wins for August in the non-profit sector, including Scope, Anglicare Victoria and Engineers Without Borders, and come as recognition for a sustained period of positive work.

Attaining B Corp Certification requires a business to meet the highest standards of overall social and environmental performance. There are over 1,400 Certified B Corporations from more than 120 industries in nearly 50 countries.

Regardless of their business focus, B Corps must meet rigorous standards of performance, accountability, and transparency. All B Corps uphold a dedication to providing positive outcomes for clients, employees, society and the environment.

SoDA is a selective association of the world’s most preeminent digital agencies and production companies. Entry is granted by invitation only, with the 90+ members hailing from over 30 countries across six continents.

The global network offers many benefits to agencies and their employees, including curating and developing best practice, knowledge-sharing, business support and ongoing exploration of how technology can be leveraged to transform and enhance consumer experiences.

August founder and director Daniel Banik said, “We love working with people whose missions serve the community and make the world a better place. Although we are rapt to receive our B Corp certification, it acts as a reminder that we can do more good.

“We’re also humbled to be voted in to SoDA by the industry members and our peers. We’ve watched the association grow over the years and have tremendous respect for what they do. We’re looking forward to contributing as much as we can.”

Members are dedicated to innovating in order to advance the digital world, and include HUGE, Big Spaceship, Jam3 and MadebyMany, as well as local agencies Deepend and IE Agency.
