Sydney independent agency, Archibald Williams, has announced the hire of two senior creatives to boost output.

Annie Bettis (main photo) has worked across social media content creation and copywriting for the past 10+ years in some of Sydney’s top agencies including Wunderman, Havas and Society Social (IPG Mediabrands).

Some of her campaigns include, Share a Coke, re-launching the social media presence for Defence Force Recruitment and building the content team at Society Social.

Bettis joins Archibald Williams as a senior copywriter with responsibility for writing directly to consumer comms for clients such as Citi, The Australian, Cancer Council, Westpac and Mastercard.

Ross Cockrill joins the agency as senior copywriter having spent the last 15 years in London at a range of different agencies, from independent digital start-ups to some of the biggest ATL agencies in town.

He moved to Sydney late last year and freelanced with CHE Proximity and R/GA before settling at Archibald Williams.

The list of clients Ross has worked on include, Nike, Mercedes-Benz, Kellogg’s, McDonald’s, Samsung, Etihad, Unilever and Google.

Matt Gilmour, ECD at Archibald Williams, said: “At AW we’re big on bringing together brand and customer comms to help our clients businesses work harder.

“Bringing on Annie and Ross, who straddle both disciplines beautifully is exciting for us, and their contribution to the agency culture and clients is already being felt.

“I look forward to sharing a beer with them when we’re allowed.”

Senior copywriter at Archibald Williams, Annie Bettis, said: “I’m excited to join the team at AW.  I’ve really enjoyed jumping straight in and being able to drive the tone for our direct-to-consumer comms, as well as having the opportunity to work with Matt straight off the blocks on some great, proactive pitches.

“Looking forward to working closely with the whole team to continue to develop our offering and have a bit of fun doing it.”

Ross Cockrill, senior copywriter at Archibald Williams, said: “I’m excited about where Archibald Williams are heading as an agency.

“It’s a close-knit team full of extremely talented people, all of whom are an absolute pleasure to work with.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can all achieve together over the next few years.”
