QMS ‘Lights Up’ Geelong With Its First Digital Billboard

Outdoor media company QMS has unveiled its latest high profile digital billboard in the City of Greater Geelong, bolstering its national digital portfolio to 25 landmark sites.

Strategically located on the corner of Ryrie and Moorabool streets, the 12.44m x 3.2m site wraps around the top of the three story building and is designed for maximum impact in the heart of Geelong’s CBD. This iconic location in Geelong is regarded as the epicentre of entertainment, shopping and nightlife, providing the perfect platform for the City’s first digital billboard.

City of Greater Geelong, Mayor Darryn Lyons, was in attendance as the digital billboard was officially ‘switched on’, highlighting the significance the sign provides advertisers in reaching the City’s thriving population.

“The digital billboard is a sign Geelong is a 21st century smart city,” said Lyons. “The billboard is going to light up this major intersection, and it will feature advertising, community events and have the capability to broadcast events. I welcome this investment and innovation in the CBD.”

QMS CEO, Barclay Nettlefold said, “We are excited to deliver such a significant landmark for Geelong at this central location. The billboard will enable advertisers to dominate the City of Geelong on an iconic site, similar in design to our ‘Melbourne Square’ landmark on the corner of Flinders and Elizabeth Streets in Melbourne’s CBD.”

The launch of this site further cements QMS’ dominance of Geelong and its greater area, with the ability for advertisers to now completely saturate the region impacting both the locals as well as the tourists who visit the area, particularly during summer.

Domain Property and Flight Centre are among the sites inaugural advertisers.
