MixFM offers free ads with a twist

Free 30-second radio ads are up for grabs on MixFM Melbourne and Sydney with one small twist – the plugs must be funny.

Comedic drive presenter Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross (pictured) will create and read live a 30-second ad for one business every Friday.

For a chance to win a free ad businesses need to submit their details on the Rosso on Mix Facebook page with one to be chosen at random.

Maternity retailers, lawyers, gluten-free bakeries, lawn-mowing services, a cheerleading school and an “online vacuum mounted bike rack store” are among those who have registered.

"I wanted to give away Soundwave or Aerosmith tickets but there weren’t any laying around for some strange reason,” Rosso said.

“The next best thing was to give away something that'd actually really help out all those hardworking business owners and their families.

“We all like free stuff, but free stuff that brings you clients knocking on your door – how good is that?"
