Tuesday TV Wrap: The Tennis & Holey Moley Take A Whack

Nine’s Australian Open coverage could only manage 464,000 last night, a dip of 24,000 from Sunday’s numbers.

Although it did rise to 646,000 (metro numbers) for hometown favourite Ash Barty’s 6-0, 6-0 demolition of Montenegrin Danka Kovinic.

In fact, viewers preferred 10’s Amazing Race (510,000) and even Holey Moley (469,000); although Seven would be starting to sweat on those numbers given the show’s publicity.

In fact, TV bosses must be wondering where all the viewers have gone considering the calibre of shows on offer.

For example, Seven’s The Good Doctor only managed 284,000 last night according to OzTAM metro numbers.

Nine still won the night with 28.3 per cent of all of the eyeballs (all channels). Seven did 27 per cent, 10 had 20.3 per cent, ABC managed 15.2 per cent and SBS almost cracked rare double figures with 9.2 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm news bulletin was the most-watched show of the evening, posting 963,000. Nine’s news did 866,000.

Other highlights for Seven included Home And Away (904,000) and The Chase (793,000).

For breakfast, Sunrise (256,000) continues to dominate Today (198,000).

10’s evening ran this way: Amazing Race (467,000), The Project (442,000), 10 News First (317,000) and NCIS (303,000).

Over at the ABC, it’s best was its 7pm news bulletin (637,000), followed by 7.30 (467,000), Foreign Correspondent (368,000) and Australia Remastered: Wild Wars (270,000).

Once again it was trains doing the business at the SBS, Great Continental Railway Journeys chugging to 215,000.
