Trump Mistakes Parody Account For His Own Sister In Major Twitter Gaffe

It’s been a bad November for US President Donald Trump.

After losing the recent Presidential Election and demanding recount after recount, Trump also suffered the recent indignity of the Four Season Total Landscaping debacle, where his campaign team confused a little-known Philadelphia landscaping business for the ritzy hotel.

Through all the turbulence, Trump has remained active as ever on Twitter, sharing a string of tweets questioning the validity of the election and outlining his plans to dispute the result.

However, Trump appears to have come unstuck on the platform over the weekend, confusing a parody account for his reclusive sister.

On Saturday, Trump retweeted a post from conservative media figure Wayne Dupree, which quoted tweets, believed to be from Elizabeth Trump.

“This election inspired me to break my silence and speak out on behalf of my family. My brother Don won this election and will fight this to the very end. We’ve always been a family of fighters. We are all so very proud of him and the job he has done for our country. 4 MORE YEARS,” the tweet from @TheBettyTrump, which was referenced in the article, said.

However, it has since been revealed the account is in fact a parody and does not belong to the real Elizabeth Trump.

Wayne Dupree has since amended the article with a disclaimer that the Twitter account in question is a fake.

“Fact-checkers have weighed in and the account that we claimed was “Elizabeth Trump” in this article was, in fact, a “parody” account. Once again, we apologize for the error,” Wayne Dupree said.

Trump has not yet removed his post.

Vice managed to track down the actual Elizabeth Trump, who gave the following brief statement: “I don’t even belong to Twitter. I have no statement. I’m just annoyed about this whole thing.”
