Radio Ratings: 3AW & Adman Russel Howcroft Absolutely Smash Melbourne Market, While Kyle & Jackie O Move Up The Ranks

As we all know by now, Commercial Radio Australia paused surveys 3, 4 and 5 due government restrictions related to COVID-19. But now we are back in business. So, the important bit: where does the industry currently stand?
Well, perhaps most notably is 3AW’s Russel Howcroft and Ross Stevenson absolutely smashing the Melbourne market, recording a record 28.4 per cent breakfast radio share, up 2.3 per cent on last survey. 3AW also reigned supreme overall with 21.4 per cent, up 3.7 per cent. Meanwhile, 3AW also won the drive spot with Tom Elliott doing 17.8 per cent, up 4.2 per cent.
Meanwhile in the Sydney market, 2GB is still on top but took a slight hit this survey period, with Ben Fordham’s breakfast show down -1.2 per cent to 16.1 per cent, and overall 2GB done -0.5 per cent to 13.8 per cent. KIIS106.5 jumped into second rank overall with 9.1 per cent, while Kyle & Jackie jumped from third to second in breakfast with 10.7 per cent (up 0.5 per cent). ABC took quite a hit, down -2.4 per cent to 8.4 per cent overall. Meanwhile, smooth 95.3’s Byron Web remained in the number one drive spot with 11.3 per cent, up 0.9 per cent.
