Peter Gibbons Joins Board Of Swift Media

Western Australian businessman Peter Gibbons is joining the board of Swift Media Australia. The appointment is effective from today.

Swift Media is a specialist media company delivering premium entertainment, communications and advertising to mining and resources, residential aged-care and health and wellbeing environments. The business connects and engages communities through entertainment and communications solutions. Swift has an audience of more than five million people via 60,000 digital assets nationally.

Gibbons joins Swift as an independent, non-executive director, bringing his experience in building high-growth businesses and extensive connectivity to West Australian mining and resources, as well as aged-care sectors

Based in Perth, Gibbons is the co-founder and managing director of Openn Negotiation, one of Australia’s leading online property auction sites for real estate agents. Prior to that he created Applord Technologies. He has also worked at Grant Samuel and Macquarie Bank.

Gibbons is chair of Bethanie Group, West Australia’s largest NFP aged-care provider and is also chair of the Vukelic Family Office. He was previously a director of Silver Chain, West Australia’s largest provider of in-home residential aged-care and commissioner of the West Australian Football Commission.

Coincidentally, Gibbons and Swift’s national CEO Pippa Leary met at JTC (John XXIII College) as students and have remained in touch throughout their careers.

Swift chairman Darren Smorgon said, “We are delighted to welcome Peter to the Swift Board. With his combination of business experiences and extensive networks in West Australia in our core verticals, his appointment strengthens Swift and supports our growth strategies. We look forward to his contribution as we continue our growth in these markets.”
