Bauer’s Wheels Magazine Reveals New Look & Announces Its 2019 Car Of The Year

Bauer Media’s oldest and most loved car magazine, Wheels, has undergone a transformation, delivering a new-look.

The new look format features a modern, contemporary clean design, along with the world class photography and quality journalism Wheels readers love.

Readers will find an expanded technology section in the magazine as well as their biggest ever databank section with over 1500 new cars available for purchase in Australia.

The launch of the new-look magazine coincides with the 2019 Australian Motoring Awards, held last night at Peninsula, Docklands.

The winner of the Wheels Car of the Year, the VOLVO XC40 features on the front cover of the February issue. Now in its 56th year, Wheels Car of the Year is the world’s longest continuously running new car award and the benchmark for manufacturers and motorists alike. It was a tight contest at times, but the judges found the VOLVO XC40 (the leaner and more moderately priced sibling of last year’s winner the XC60) out-pointed its opposition on all five key criteria on which the award is decided.

Alex Inwood, editor of Wheels, said: “Wheels magazine is backed by 65 years of heritage in Australia, so it was important for us to consult with our readers in regards to the changes we’ve made to the magazine. Our readers typically spend more than two hours engrossed in our pages each month, so we wanted to create a clean, easy to read format that reflects our heritage, but with a modern twist.

“The new format magazine is jam packed with the content our readers trust, just with more of what they love. The 2019 Car of the Year winner features on the front cover, and is an award our readers respect and look forward to every year.”
