Ed Sheeran will kick off 2017 for NOVA Entertainment with a Nova’s Red Room performance live from the Sydney Opera House, with this special event also broadcast on the Nova Network, on Tuesday 7 February.

With contesting for this special ‘money can’t buy’ experience starting today, this comes off the back of the announcement of Sheeran’s forthcoming third album ÷ (pronounced divide) which is set for release on 3 March.

Tony Thomas, NOVA Entertainment’s chief marketing and digital officer said, “We finished 2016 with an incredible performance from Coldplay in Nova’s Red Room, and we’re kicking off 2017 just as big with Ed Sheeran performing again in Nova’s Red Room, but this time in one of the world’s most iconic locations at the Sydney Opera House. Once again, we’re so proud to be able to provide Nova listeners with another incredible, exclusive music experience.”

In one of his first live and biggest international shows this year, Ed Sheeran returns to Nova’s Red Room following his impressive performance in Dublin, as the headline artist for Nova’s Red Room Global Tour 2015. Listeners at home can also experience this exclusive event with the Nova Network broadcasting the gig from 9pm AESDT.

Sheeran is one of the world’s most talented singer/songwriters. He made history in Australia by being the first artist to debut two new singles, Shape of You and Castle On The Hill, at #1 and #2 on the ARIA singles charts. They amassed over 748,000 combined streams in the first 48 hours of release (breaking Australian streaming records) and are sitting at #1 and #2 respectively on the Australian iTunes singles charts.

The multiple Grammy and Brit Award winning artist has released two number one studio albums and performed to sold out audiences around the world. His debut album + was certified six times platinum in the UK and included the award winning smash hit The A Team. His second album X scored a Brit Award for Album of the Year while the single Thinking Out Loud earned him two Grammy Awards.

In another Nova’s Red Room ‘money can’t buy experience’ listeners have the chance to see Ed Sheeran perform at the Sydney Opera House, a venue he’s always wanted to play at. Listeners can only win their way to Nova’s Red Room by listening to Nova for the nominated Ed Sheeran track in breakfast, across the day, during the Kate, Tim & Marty drive show and in Smallzy’s Surgery from Monday 16 January.

Nova’s Red Room is Australia’s premier intimate live music experience that provides fans with a money can’t buy experience with the world’s biggest artists. Established in 2012, Nova’s Red Room works closely with record labels and promoters and has seen over 120 artists perform including Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Usher and Sam Smith. In 2014 Nova’s Red Room Global Tour made its debut, taking NOVA Entertainment’s live music brand international with shows in the US, followed by a second tour to London, Dublin and Dubai in 2015 and last year Manchester and London.
