Kerry O’Keeffe To Headline Triple M’s Test Cricket Coverage
Triple M has confirmed that former Test cricketer and ABC Radio commentator Kerry “Skull” O’Keeffe will lead its broadcast line-up for the 2016-17 cricket season.
Joining Skull will be Triple M’s James Brayshaw, Sky Sports UK cricket expert and former England women’s cricket legend Isa Guha, former Aussie cricketers Michael Slater, Brett Lee, Brad Haddin, and Merv Hughes, as well as former Victorian and South Australian cricketer and coach Darren Berry.
Commenting on his new role, O’Keeffe said his enthusiasm for test cricket on the radio has been re-ignited.
“A new era in Australian cricket is at hand and I’m just so excited to be part of the Triple M coverage of our potential climb back to the top,” he said.
Aussie comedian HG Nelson and cricket reporter Neroli Meadows will also feature as part of Triple M’s cricket coverage this summer, along with Triple M’s Gus Worland, Jules Schiller and Lawrence Mooney.
Triple M head of content Mike Fitzpatrick said this summer will be the first time that cricket will be heard on radio in crystal clear stereo, and not drowned out by the fuzz and interference from powerlines and buildings.
“In all seriousness, we can’t wait to hear this line-up together on FM,” he said. “It’s very exciting.”
Triple M’s cricket commentary team will pad up for the first time on 15 December for the first Test of Australia’s series against Pakistan at The Gabba in Brisbane.
The radio network will also be announcing special guests for its cricket coverage over the summer.
