Designworks Appoints Sally Hooper To Leadership role in Christchurch

Designworks has appointed Sally Hooper to the role of Head of Commercial Management and New Business in Christchurch.

Reporting to Chairman & CEO Sven Baker, and working alongside Managing Director Michael Prentice, Hooper joins at a time of exciting opportunity and growth in Christchurch for Designworks

“Christchurch is close to all our hearts at Designworks, and we’ve always been committed to being part of the rebuild and continued emergence of a vibrant city and creative community. Christchurch really presents a unique opportunity to bring our consumer centered integrated approach – the physical, digital, brand and content – to life with our client partners,” said Baker.

“Sally really embodies the spirit of what is happening in the market. Energy, creativity and entrepreneurial guts that has seen her succeed not only in her previous roles but starting her own thriving business.”

Hooper’s appointment follows the arrival of Danielle Barclay last month as Designworks’ Group Head of Brand Experience. Baker sees Hooper and Barclay combining to bring a fresh perspective to Christchurch clients wanting to go beyond traditional design or communications to create memorable, enduring brand experiences.

Hooper said: “I’ve always really loved what Designworks is about, the thinking, the creativity and the partnership with clients. Their vision to create engaging 360 degree brand experiences is definitely what Christchurch needs and what many property developers, clients and brands are hungry for. I can’t wait to get stuck in with Danielle, Michael and the team.”

Hooper brings 10 years’ experience in top creative agencies in New Zealand, on highly awarded clients and integrated projects including Boundary Road Brewery at Barnes Catmur and Friends, Driving Dogs for Mini/SPCA and Prime TV at Draft FCB. Hooper moved to Christchurch in 2014. During the past two years she was Senior Account Director at Novo and most recently Marketing Manager at Ballantynes. In 2014, with partner Sam Hooper, she started the successful Pot Sticker Dumpling Bars.

Designworks is part of WPP AUNZ, Australasia’s leading marketing content and communications group.
