Adam Marshall To Join Carat Perth as MD As Alan Matthews Heads To Retirement

Carat has announced Adam Marshall has been appointed to the role of managing director of its Perth operation.

Reporting to Carat CEO Simon Ryan, Adam will oversee the Perth office, replacing industry veteran Alan Matthews, as he heads into retirement.

The appointment is a major coup for Carat and Dentsu Aegis Network who have been looking for a replacement for Matthews for some time.

In a career that has spanned the UK, Australia and Singapore, Marshall has worked with Y&R, OMD and Initiative in London. In 2006, Marshall moved to Australia and launched Maxus Perth as joint managing partner becoming managing director in 2008 before being appointed managing director of OMD WA.

Marshall moved to Singapore in 2013 to become head of trading Asia Pacific for Mindshare. In this capacity Marshall is responsible for a large portfolio of clients and leads a multinational team of over 1000 media buyers located across 16 countries covering the fastest growing region in the world.

Marshall has also been chairman of the WA Advertising Charity; Oasis, champion of the Perth Advertising and Design Club as well as a guest lecturer at ECU, Curtin and Murdoch Universities.

Speaking of the appointment, Simon Ryan CEO of Carat Australia & New Zealand said, “We are excited to have Adam on board to lead our Carat Perth Office. Marshall added, “Carat is a dominant force in the Perth market and I am honoured to be taking over the reins from Alan as he heads into retirement.  I look forward to getting to know the team and the Carat Perth clients, and growing the business over the coming years.”
