Campaign: Children Can’t Choose Their Parents

Campaign: Children Can’t Choose Their Parents

Imagine being able to choose who your parents are. In this ad for Finnish charity Fragile Childhood two children look like they are given the option.

Taken around what looks like a museum, the children are shown various sets of parents. Inside the exhibits are men and women, some sitting on a couch in a comfy family home, some out at a park under a tree, and some fighting and throwing their wine glasses around.

After watching the parents, the children go home with the fighting couple.

Created by Havas Worldwide Helsinki, the minute and a half clip is titled ‘The Orphanage’ and ends with the tagline ‘Children can’t choose their parents. What if they could?’

In 2012 the same charity released a spot entitled ‘Monsters’ asking parents how their children see them when they’ve been drinking.
