SCA Restructures Business

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has announced a rejuvenated management structure following news of the departure of Clive Dickens last week.

Guy Dobson has been appointed executive director of metropolitan operations, and Rick Lenarcic takes the position of executive director of regional operations.

This business restructure recognises the distinctive and important differences between the
metropolitan and regional businesses, whilst achieving the overall objective of building a leading
national media company.

Guy Dobson and Rick Lenarcic will oversee the provision of content, innovation, client solutions, and
lead teams of national specialists plus local general managers from a strategic and operational perspective.

Dobson said: “I’m so looking forward to leading a dynamic reinvigorated metro business structure into 2015. We have the most talented people in Australia on our team, with this new structure, a dedicated team focusing on metro solutions and similarly a specialist team focusing on our regional assets, SCA is going to power into the new year. There are some exciting moves in play that we can’t wait to unleash upon the business.”

Dobson has more than 30 years’ experience heading up media operations. A highly regarded and extremely successful radio content mastermind, he was previously CEO of Austereo, (prior to the merger with Southern Cross Media), and has led content solutions for SCA since the merge under the role of chief content officer.

Lenarcic said: “We have a wealth of experienced managers and team members that cover a huge part of Australia. To be directing this energetic team is exciting and I look forward to managing the further building of our TV, radio and digital assets across regional Australia. The added advantage of metro content, experience and knowledge further enhances our position as one of Australia’s largest media companies.”

In addition to these appointments, SCA looks forward to progressing with the appointment of its next head of digital and innovation.
