Cummins&Partners has announced a number of changes and promotions across its strategy, client and management teams in their Melbourne office.

Tom Ward (right in photo), who joined C&P in 2015 as managing director, will move into the national chief strategy officer and take control of the 10-strong integrated strategy team. Ward has nearly 20 years experience across strategy and client service roles, including as head of strategy and Insight at GPY&R and leadership roles at Naked Communications, Clemenger BBDO and TBWA London.

“It’s been incredibly rewarding and exciting to lead the flagship Melbourne office and drive growth across our integrated services model, and I’m really excited to go back to my planning roots and focus more closely on continuing to build the best, most integrated strategic offering in Australia,” Ward said.

Ward’s move further strengthens the team after the recent addition of Lucy Cochran as strategy lead.

C&P has also promoted Katie Firth (in photo) to client services director and the management team, with a growth remit to expand their client engagements and services model. With 12 years’ experience in advertising, Firth also joined in 2015 after previous client leadership stints with CHE Proximity, TBWA and Publicis.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Tom and CJ on the management team to help build a best-in-class capability for our clients’ creative:media needs. C&P is one of the most innovative independent agencies in Australia with an amazing track record, a great bunch of talented people, and I look forward to working with the team to help take the business to the next level” said Firth.

Chris Jeffares (left in photo), CEO at Cummins&Partners, will take on the day-to-day management of the Melbourne-office, having also recently hired Dan Ingall as managing director of its Sydney operation, working closely with Tom Martin and Julian Schreiber as co-executive creative directors.

“It’s always exciting when you can promote from within to drive the agency forward and Tom and Firthy are brilliant operators. They have thrived at the agency because of the diversity of their skills and passion for clients and creativity,” Jeffares said.

All moves are effective immediately.
