Viacom Chooses Chris Ellis To Lead ANZ Commercial & Business Development

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has announced the appointment of Chris Ellis as its vice president of commercial and business development for Australia and New Zealand.

Ellis joins VIMN with more than two decades of experience across media, digital media, digital product development and corporate strategy.

Most recently, he was a partner at digital innovation consulting firm Blue Road Group, having worked on projects with Bauer Media, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and others.

Prior to that, he co-founded and led business development for cloud management software firm GorillaStack. He has also held senior commercial roles at Myspace and AOL.

In his new role as vice president of commercial and business development, Ellis will be responsible for managing content distribution partnerships for Viacom’s media brands – MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Comedy Central, Spike and BET – across linear, mobile, IPTV, SVOD, TVOD, MVOD, apps and third-party digital platforms, and other business development opportunities across the Trans-Tasman.

VIMN has also hired Robyn Campbell as programme sales manager for Australia and New Zealand. She joins VIMN with 15 years’ experience in programming sales, having previously represented the ABC and BBC Worldwide.

Campbell will manage all of VIMN’s programme sales to third-party broadcasters across Australia and New Zealand.
