Her previous role as managing director of SOCiETY Social saw her establish and lead the social agency within the IPG Mediabrands network, building a team of over 20 and working across four states with clients including Coca-Cola, Nova, Tourism Queensland, Coles and TEDxSydney.

Prior to that, Swankie founded one of the earliest social media teams for internationally awarded Leo Burnett Sydney. Overseeing Red Engine SCC’s national client roster, Swankie is based in Melbourne and will also work closely with agency director and head of strategy, Kate Richardson, to build out the agency’s ongoing growth in Victoria.

Commenting on her appointment, Swankie said, “When I started talking to Red Engine SCC what really struck me about the agency are its unique skills in delivering engaging and sharable video content that is backed up by strong digital strategy.”

“Social and Digital are quickly evolving so that video, immersive experiences, 360 and VR are all becoming a core part of how brands can connect with people on these channels, as well as giving us so many new ways and possibilities to engage audiences. I’m really excited about the prospect of working with a creative team at the cutting edge of this space in Australia,” she added.

Red Engine SCC founder and CEO, Julian Townley, said, “We’re thrilled to have Nicola on the team and her appointment is reflective of our continuing commitment to advancing innovation for our clients.

“Her strong strategic capabilities and passion for big ideas and emerging technology, will offer exponential value to our clients in harnessing progressively-led digital content solutions that deliver real results.”
