MKTG Appoints Veteran TV Broadcaster Mike Lewis As GM Operations & Technology

Dentsu Aegis Network agency MKTG Sport & Entertainment has appointed veteran network television broadcaster Mike Lewis (above right) as general manager of operations and technology.

Based in Melbourne, Lewis is tasked with leading MKTG’s stadium technology and operations with Australia’s leading sports and venues. His role encompasses innovating and delivering the stadium experience for the sports industry, including LED signage, broadcast platforms and other stadium technologies.

Lewis joins MKTG with more than 25 years experience in the television industry, managing broadcast operations for numerous high-profile programs and events.

This includes establishing the Roving Enterprise show ‘The Project’ from concept to launch, and delivering the broadcast of the Sochi Winter Olympics, Melbourne, Delhi and Glasgow Commonwealth Games, the Australian Grand Prix, and the AFL, including the AFL Grand Final.

MKTG managing director of sport & entertainment Matt Connell (pictured left) said, “It’s fantastic to have someone of Mike’s caliber and experience join our team and help us continue to drive innovation and excellence through our stadium programs in consultation with our rights partners.

“The stadium experience is evolving all the time and with Mike on board, we’re best placed to continue to be at the forefront of new developments in technology and infrastructure, and in fact to drive that change ourselves.”

Mike Lewis said, “We have a strong opportunity at MKTG to be world leaders in engaging stadium fans through technology.

“Working closely with sports of the caliber of AFL and Cricket Australia, we can drive performance as an agency across our service delivery and operations to even further enhance the experience for sports fans, and in giving advertisers ways to connect with fans.

“I’m coming from a world outside of agencies, where my focus has always been on delivering great content for viewers. This experience hopefully translates very well to my new role and I’m delighted to be part of the MKTG team at a very exciting time for the agency in Australia.”
