Not only is Amazon set to challenge Woolies and Coles with first ever physical grocery store, the American company is entering the SVOD battle in over 200 countries with its ‘Amazon Prime Video’ service.
Amazon Prime Video gives members around the world access to watch popular and award-winning Amazon Original Series like The Grand Tour, Transparent, Mozart in the Jungle, The Man in the High Castle and children’s series like Creative Galaxy, Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street, Tumble Leaf and Wishenpoof.
“We are excited to announce that starting today, fans around the world have access to Prime Video,” said Tim Leslie, Vice President, International, Prime Video.
“The Grand Tour and other critically acclaimed Amazon Original Series like Transparent, Mozart in the Jungle, and The Man in the High Castle, along with hundreds of popular Hollywood movies and TV shows, are now available at the introductory price of only 2.99 a month. And what’s really exciting is that we are just getting started.”
Like Netflix, Amazon offers an offline feature meaning you can download content to watch without churning through data. Prime Video has an introductory price of US$2.99 (AU$4.05) for the first six months, starting with a free seven-day trial, the price increases to the full US$5.99 (AU$8.10). This makes Amazon services cheaper then both Netflix and Stan.
