TikTok And Hootsuite Conquer Their Fears In New Campaign

In an attempt to prove that TikTok doesn’t have to be scary for businesses to use, the social media group has partnered with Hootsuite to create a new “fear-factor inspired” ad campaign.

Thanks to TikTok being the newest social media platform on the market, many businesses still fear having to advertise themselves on the app. In fact, a recent TikTok Maturity Report revealed that only 10% of businesses said they feel confident using TikTok for their business.

With this new campaign, Hootsuite is acknowledging that while the process of stepping into the world of video content creation can be scary, it doesn’t have to be, and getting over your TikTok fears can be a relatively painless process.

Through a fully integrated, 360 ‘fear factor-inspired’ campaign to celebrate the partnership with TikTok, Hootsuite is paralleling how people feel when using TikTok with video footage of real people facing big fears.

The campaign shows people facing common fear-inducing activities (bungee jumping, tarantulas and fear of heights), to show customers that overcoming your fears – whether that be creating video content or facing a phobia head-on – is possible, and Hootsuite is here to make it easier.

“Our intent with the campaign was to acknowledge some of the very real intimidation that businesses have about creating video content,” commented Billy Jones, Hootsuite’s senior director of Brand Marketing.

“We wanted to show customers – both current and prospective – that while adopting and creating content for a new platform can be scary at first, TikTok is an extremely powerful platform with the right tools and guidance. That’s where Hootsuite comes in. We want to help brands feel fearless and confident on the platform.”
