Nine Sales Appoints Director Of Innovation & Transformation

Nine Sales today announced the appointment of Nathan Birch to the role of director of innovation & transformation.

Birch brings to the role a longstanding career within digital, strategy and corporate transformation in Australia, the USA and UK, including roles at GE, KPMG and Orange. Most recently he was at Deloitte Digital, responsible for the development and growth of digital strategy.

“With over 17 years’ experience in strategy, disruptive innovation and transformation projects across multinationals to start-ups, Nathan offers a truly unique skill set that will help shape the way we embrace disruption and future-proof the way we deliver meaningful experiences for our commercial partners,” said Lizzie Young, Nine’s director of innovation, partnerships & experience.

“We identified the need to bring together experts across a range of disciplines who can work collaboratively to connect brands to consumers through our content and platforms, and importantly, shape the future of what’s next. Our focus to support Nine’s sales team with market-leading solutions that add value to marketing teams across Australia remains at the heart of what we stand for.”

Birch’s appointment coincides with Powered’s service and product offering being reimagined for the future. The changes will see Powered’s proposition, led by Young, clearly defined across four key areas of expertise:

  • Client strategy and experience
  • Innovation and transformation
  • Creative production
  • Content partnerships

“This shift in structure and approach, and Nathan’s appointment, demonstrates how serious we are about changing the conversation with our clients,” Michael Stephenson, Nine’s chief sales officer, said.

“With Nathan standing alongside Melissa Mullins, Powered’s recently appointed director of strategy, we now have a serious group of very talented people who are tasked with helping our partners to maximise their return on investment with Nine, by breaking down every old paradigm and harnessing the power of global trends.

“I can’t wait to introduce the reimagined Powered to our partners.”
