CHE Proximity’s Spotfires Adds Fuel With New Hire

CHE Proximity’s Spotfires Adds Fuel With New Hire

CHE Proximity’s full service startup offering, Spotfires, has hit the ground running, today announcing a series of new manoeuvres to further position itself as the creative go-to for early stage startups.

Up first is the appointment of a new department head, former Google and Facebook consultant Luke Marshall. Marshall joins the ranks to expand the agency’s growing client list and spearhead agency projects, such as a new partnership struck with Startup Victoria.

As part of this partnership, which will see Spotfires offer the organisation creative, technology and media support, the agency will be hosting a series of “speed dating” style pitching events for 100 local investors and founders.

The first agency pitch night will be held on May 26, with the main aim of connecting early stage startups with investors. The event, hosted at CHE Proximity’s offices and held in conjunction with Startup Victoria, will take on an informal pitch format, whereby startups will “speed pitch” their potential investors with fresh new ideas.

CHE Proximity chief operating officer, Andrew Drougas, said Marshall’s experience will play a pinnacle role in driving Spotfires forward.

“Luke’s worked in some of the world’s most innovative companies, so it made sense that he would come in and help CHE Proximity grow the next generation of disruptive businesses.

“The demand for Spotfires has exploded since we launched in October last year, and it’s now reached a point where we need someone dedicated to pushing the team and driving how we evolve the offering.

“The agency pitch nights are just one of initiatives Luke will be leading in this role.”

Marshall said it was the ethos of a startup combined with the resource of a big agency that drove him to accept the offer.

“Startups in their early stages are dynamic and exciting, and the opportunity to contribute to their growth is a unique challenge I’m thrilled to help drive. The needs of startups are diverse and we look forward to taking these businesses to the next stage with Spotfires.”

For creative director, Tommy McCubbin, the ethos of the agency is what’s resonating with their startup clients.

“Like CHEP, startups bring a wartime approach to getting new customers and changing the way their industries operate. They’re laser-focused on changing the way things are done and improving their customers’ lives.

“The way we’re working with them – lean, fast, and collaboratively – is resonating. We’ve got a huge team of specialists at CHEP and those skills put us in a place to deliver thinking that’s unmatched – whether it’s designing and building their product, brand development, or understanding the complete customer experience.”

In addition to the three scheduled pitch events, Spotfires will deliver a branding workshop for Startup Victoria. The partnership will also see CHE Proximity supporting key events run by the not-for-profit throughout the year, and allow them to introduce startup driven innovation to their clients before it hits the market.

As Sure As Night Becomes Day, The End Of Third-Party Cookies Has Been Delayed

Citing “ongoing challenges” and “divergent feedback” from different corners of the digital advertising industry, Google delayed the end of third-party cookies from the “second half of Q4” to early 2025. Much of the dragging has come from Google having to […]
