MessageMedia Expands Executive Team

Global business mobile messaging provider, MessageMedia, has expanded its executive team with the appointment of Cameron Buckley as executive director, sales & marketing and Matthew Varley as chief operating officer.

The expansion of the senior leadership team follows a period of rapid business development, supported by escalating adoption of mobile messaging.

Buckley comes to MessageMedia from his previous role as chief executive – Asia of SaaS media intelligence firm iSentia, during which time the company experienced rapid growth and a successful IPO on the ASX. Buckley has over 20 years’ experience in sales, marketing and general management, having also worked with leading media service multinationals in Australia, the U.K. and APAC including PMP Limited, Pacific Micromarketing (now Experian) and Axicom.

Varley joins MessageMedia from Wego.com, Asia Pacific and the Middle East’s leading travel metasearch engine, where he served as chief operating officer. Prior to this appointment, Varley held various key senior executive roles at the Wotif Group in both Australia and Asia; his most recent, leading the Asian operations, managing over 150 staff across eight countries.

Stuart Marburg, MessageMedia CEO said: “Our strategy to invest in people and next generation technology is instrumental in driving our global expansion and continued momentum in key markets such as Australia, USA and the UK.

“Both Matt and Cameron are seasoned technology-based media executives and their extensive global experience will be invaluable in MessageMedia’s expansion within the industry”.

These appointments are effective immediately.
