Radio’s Ad Revenue Grows Five Per Cent In August

The commercial radio industry has recorded growth in metropolitan advertising revenue of 5.23 per cent for August, to a total of $62.828 million, according to figures sourced by Deloitte and released by industry body Commercial Radio Australia (CRA).

August figures for the individual markets showed that Adelaide led growth figures, reporting a significant increase of 12.43 per cent to $6.061 million, Sydney was also up 8.58 per cent to $19.642 million, Melbourne rose by 4.63 per cent to $19.314million and Perth was up 1.31 per cent to $8.219million.

Brisbane was down slightly on last August dropping 0.62 per cent to $9.593 million.

The year-to-date figures show growth across all markets with a rise of 6.88 per cent to $124.721 million.  Adelaide was up 11.98 per cent to $11.888 million; Sydney increased 8.12 per cent to $38.567 million, Melbourne rose 7.37 per cent to $38.392 million; Brisbane continued the trend with a 3.77 per cent increase to $19.436 million and Perth grew 3.22 per cent to $16.437 million.

The Deloitte figures report actual revenue received by metropolitan commercial radio stations and include all metropolitan agency and direct revenue.
