Ogilvy Melbourne Wins Another Account

Australia’s premium decorative surfaces provider Laminex Australia has appointed Ogilvy Melbourne, part of STW Group, as its creative agency of record, to work across its portfolio of Australian brands including Laminex.

The appointment was made following a competitive pitch and sees the agency work across all strategy, creative, digital and production.  It further extends a relationship first established in June last year, when Ogilvy Melbourne successfully won work with Laminex Australia’s premium Essastone brand.

“The entire team is incredibly excited to be working across not just one, but all of the Laminex brands here in Australia,” said Ogilvy Melbourne’s General Manager Michael McEwan.

“When we first started working with the Essastone team last year, it became apparent there was a great cultural fit between our two organisations.  It’s fantastic to be working with a like-minded organisation that places similar emphasis on the value of relationships, and true business partnerships,” he continued.

Laminex Australia’s General Manager of Marketing, George Bej said: “Ogilvy Melbourne’s depth of skill sets and talent across creative, strategy and production was a key factor behind our decision to deepen our relationship beyond Essastone.  Since appointing Ogilvy Melbourne last year to work on Essatone, we have really grown to love the agency’s culture and creative insight.

“Between all our agencies – PR Edge who continue as our PR agency of record and media agency Ikon Media – we have big plans for Laminex this year,” continued Bej.

Ogilvy Melbourne’s Group Managing Director Sean Taylor said the win topped off an outstanding week for Ogilvy Melbourne; the agency won two Bronze Lions in the Media category at Cannes for the ‘Dupe’ campaign, developed for Yarra Valley Water.

Ogilvy Melbourne is part of STW, Australasia’s leading marketing content and communications group.
