Netflix Finally Turns Off Autoplay

Netflix has released a new feature allowing users to turn off autoplay previews.

On 6 February, Netflix tweeted: “Some people find this feature helpful. Others not so much.
We’ve heard the feedback loud and clear — members can now control whether or not they see auto-play previews on Netflix.”

This new feature has two fragments to it.  It not only allows the viewers to turn off autoplay for movies and shows previews, but to turn off auto-play for next episode. This purports that you can finally skip the full-length auto-played trailers while browse.

This setting is unique to each specific account, which means if you want to turn off auto-play off and your partner doesn’t, that’s alright!

This new feature will surely be a moment of celebrations by the 167 million subscribers of Netflix around the world.

Here’s how to turn off or on trailer and episode auto-play on Netflix:

  1. Sign-in to your Netflix account.
  2. Select ‘Manage Profiles’ from the menu.
  3. Select the profile you want to update.
  4. Check or un-check the option of ‘Auto-play previews while browsing on all devices, and Auto-play next episode in a series on all devices.’
