LinkedIn has unveiled a suite of new features to support businesses and professionals during COVID-19.
The changes, designed to help professionals connect with their community from afar, include the introduction of LinkedIn Virtual Events, a new Video Tab and for the first time LinkedIn Polls.
“As the Australian business community adjusts to new ways of working due to COVID-19, LinkedIn is always providing new ways to help businesses bring their online professional community together,” said LinkedIn Marketing Solutions director Prue Cox.
“Today, we are pleased to announce several major updates from LinkedIn Pages that will help businesses leverage the power of our organic environment.
“These features include LinkedIn virtual events, a video library tab and custom announcement banners – all hosted on your LinkedIn Page.
“These features are designed to help brands share important updates and facilitate online events for their customers and employees.”
LinkedIn Virtual Events allows users to host virutal events safely and securely, while also using third-party broadcast partners such as Restream, Wirecast, Streamyard and Socialive.
The new video tab comes as users continue to turn to video on the platform,
Already the fastest-growing type of content on the platform reactions on Live have increased 270 per cent since early February 2020, and Comment volume has seen an increase of 272 per cent in the same time period on LinkedIn Live streams.
