“We’re F*cked” – BBC Hot Mic Picks Up Colourful Commentary

The fallout of Britan’s Labour Party has claimed an unlikely victim in the form of the BBC, who has had to issue an apology after broadcasting crass language.

The incident occurred during a press conference where seven MPs defected from Britain’s Labour Party.

A male voice, who is yet to be identified, could be overheard quietly offering his opinion on the proceedings, stating: “Not gonna lie, but between this and Brexit, we are actually fucked.

“It’s going to be so divided. The Conservatives are going to win”.

The insightful commentator continued when one of the defectors, Chuka Umunna, was making his announcement, declaring: “he’s mad”.

BBC presenter Samira Ahmed apologised, saying: “I should say for those who were listening to that live news conference, there was some bad language apparently, so we do apologise if anyone was offended by what they might have heard”.

However, the damage had already been done, as the UK media jumped on the faux pas, prompting the BBC to make a further response.

A BBC spokesperson told UK media outlet metro: “Due to an error, we inadvertently broadcast some background comments from another microphone during our coverage of the press conference this morning”.

Though the incident is cause for embarrassment, it’s just another in a long list of hot mic pickups, from Sainsbury’s CEO singing ‘we’re in the money’ shortly before talking about the  £12 billion merger with Asda, to the legendary moment when WNBC news anchor Sue Simmons posited the question: “the fuck are you doing?”
