ThinkTV will set the stage for an evidence-based discussion about how advertisers can get the best out of TV with the announcement today that it will host an exclusive launch event, ReThinkTV, that brings together international and local guest speakers to discuss the power of television.

The half-day event will feature Tess Alps, Chair of the of UK-based television marketing organisation Thinkbox, who will share her extensive expertise on where TV is headed globally and its unrivalled effectiveness with some of Australia’s most senior marketers.

Alps is the Chair of Thinkbox, the marketing body for commercial TV in the UK. She established the organisation in 2006 in order to prove TV’s enduring effectiveness, to explain its dynamic future via all technologies and to champion creativity. Prior to Thinkbox, Tess was the Chair of the PHD Group in the UK. In her 13 years with PHD she had several roles including six years heading its content division Drum, where she pioneered the concept of brand content. Alps is a member of BAFTA, a Fellow of the Royal Television Society and in 2013 was voted Haymarket Publications’ Media Leader of the Decade.

At the helm of Thinkbox since its inception, Alps has seen the marketing body for commercial TV win several awards, including Best Media Research of the Year for its landmark “Payback” econometrics study into the sales and profit impact of media. As a result, TV revenue in the UK has seen six consecutive periods of growth and audience increases across total TV.

The event will also feature other speakers, including leading academics and industry experts who will share their insights and advice from their own experience about how advertisers can use today’s television to drive sales and profits for their businesses.

“ReThinkTV has been created to not only launch ThinkTV and its mission to the market but to share world renowned expertise and insights with advertisers and their agencies about the effectiveness of TV,” ThinkTV CEO Kim Portrate said.

“ThinkTV has been established as an evidence-led marketing and technology development company to help advertisers and agencies get the best from today’s TV. This event will challenge some of the market’s thinking and perceptions about today’s multi-platform TV and provide meaningful insights that will help marketers optimise their media investments.”

To be held on November 30th at Doltone House in Pyrmont, the event is expected to attract 400 guests.

Further speakers for ReThinkTV will be announced shortly.
