Thursday TV Ratings: The AFL Pips Gogglebox, As The Drinks Are On Seven

Seven cruised to an easy Thursday night win thanks namely to its 6pm news and coverage of the Western Bulldogs-Brisbane Lions match.

Seven’s news was the most watched show of Thursday, posting 779,000 OzTAM metro viewers. That was a good 120,000 on rival Nine’s offering.

Its AFL coverage pulled 401,000, while Nine’s NRL broadcast of the Eels-Roosters game did 339,000.

That left Seven with 32.6 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Nine did 25.7 per cent, 10 had 16.7 per cent, the ABC managed 15.9 per cent and SBS did a neat nine per cent.

10’s attempt to use comedy over its rival’s football prowess saw Gogglebox post 368,000 and Taskmaster 235,000.

Seven’s The Chase (443,000) was actually the most watched entertainment show of Thursday, while Home And Away did 352,000.

Over at Nine, ACA did 417,000, Hot Seat had 310,000 and Tipping Point pulled 234,000.

10’s The Project didn’t look pretty with just 219,000 viewers.

Best for the ABC was its 7pm news (520,000), 7.30 (402,000) and Foreign Correspondent (300,000).
