Reigning radio king Kyle Sandilands, has called out his own show on KIIS 106.5 for censoring politician Pauline Hanson.
‘The Kyle & Jackie O show has been on a high since the announcement it won the latest ratings survey.
However, things became tense on Friday when Hanson’s anti-vaccination comments were censored.
The right-wing politician has been very public about the fact she will not be getting the COVID-19 jab.
Meanwhile, Sandilands has been endorsing Australians getting vaccinated, including dropping his own rap.
Still, despite their disagreements, Hanson appeared on the radio show and naturally, they got onto the topic of vaccines.
Naturally, Hanson shared her anti-vax views.
However, when the producers began to censor Hanson live on air, Sandilands was not happy with Hanson’s words being beeped out.
The censorship started after Hanson said: “I’m not having the vaccine, I’m not having that shit put into me,” – the rest of the sentence was then beeped out.
Both Sandilands and Jackie O tried to reason with Hanson, by asking if she had had any other vaccines. (She has, but only when she was a baby.) However, Hanson was adamant about her position.
Sandilands then realised that some of what Hanson was saying was being beeped out.
He paused the interview to ask a producer why this was happening. The producer explained it was because what Hanson was saying is contrary to government-approved information.
Sandilands said: “We are not a government show.
“This is bullshit, this whole thing.”
Sandilands then apologised to Hanson.
