According to reports, Bruce Lehrmann has enlisted one of Australia’s top defamation lawyers as he weighs up his legal options against various media outlets.
News.com.au has reported that Lehrmann has hired Mark O’Brien, a defamation lawyer in Sydney. O’Brien works at the firm that represented Ben Roberts-Smith during his incredibly costly defamation trial that is still waiting for an outcome.
As reported yesterday, Lehrmann is considering suing 10’s The Project and Lisa Wilkinson for defamation.
However, according to new reports, he is also considering suing The ABC for defamation because it broadcasted a live speech from Brittany Higgins.
Currently, no concern notices have been posted, but Lehrmann’s legal time is now likely pouring over two years worth of media coverage.
It is worth noting that Lehrmann was not identified by the media until he was formally charged with sexual assault.
