Media, PR & Other Agencies

Although it is a little while since B&T published this year’s Agency Scorecards, we haven’t collated them into a single leaderboard—until today.

Today, we’re collating the scores of Australia and New Zealand’s media, PR and other agencies.

Tomorrow, we’ll do the same for the creative agencies.

As ever, B&T’s Agency Scorecards DO NOT compare agencies against each other. We have the B&T Awards for that.

Instead, our Agency Scorecards compare agencies against themselves year-on-year. We’re looking for improvement, not perfection.

This year B&T expanded the number and type of agencies to take part, inviting PR and communications, social media and digital agencies to join our media and creative lists.

The project this year also benefitted by assembling an Advisory Panel to provide greater rigour to the marking process.

The panel featured:

  • Sangeeta Leach, founding director, The Leach Partnership
  • Peter Coffey, partner, Enth Degree
  • Mark Leone, partner, MadClarity
  • Paul Murphy, MD Australia and New Zealand, Ebiquity
  • Darren Woolley, founder and global CEO, Trinity P3
  • Venessa Hunt, CEO, Fixer & Future
  • Chris Savage, founder, The Savage Company
  • Jen Davidson, managing partner, Tumbleturn Marketing Advisory
  • Virginia Hyland, CEO, Squad M&A.

As per previous years, agencies were marked against five main criteria with extra focus on how their performance compared with previous years.

The criteria includes new business success; Business performance (i.e. how well each agency managed its own financials); the quality of work and awards received; people and HR policies; and, leadership and innovation shown in the industry.

This year’s B&T Agency Scorecard’s music theme and album covers proved a real hit.

Below, you’ll see that we have chosen our three favourite album covers from among these media, PR & other agencies. Tomorrow, we’ll reveal our favourite creative agency album covers, as well as their full scoreboard.

Thank you to our Advisory Panel and for every agency that took part in this year’s B&T Agency Scorecards project.

Album covers that were a hit

1. Yango

There had to be one, (and while it’s quite creepy) hats off to Rob Nagy for playing the Nevermind baby with such conviction.

2. Zenith

Full marks to Jason Tonelli and the Zenith leadership team for channelling The Wiggles in this colourful cover.

3. Herd MSL

Bad Bunny doesn’t just follow culture, he helps move it. And B&T loves this interpretation of his second solo studio album, YHLQMDLG, staring none other than Skye Lambley.
