Yango put in a performance to be proud of in 2025.
It hit a lot of the right notes in terms of new business, securing five new clients, and produced some impressive work indeed.
Together, these helped the Sydney-based band increase its billings by 133 per cent. As a result, it also recruited an extra five members.
One of those appointments was Amy Carr, who joined as the new general manager of growth. After joining the agency, Carr became responsible for leading the agency’s new business initiatives.
Those new clients included JAC Motors, Amber Tiles, Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation, Australian Water Heating Manufacturers and Jameel Farizon. It also re-signed or extended contracts with eight clients over the course of the year.
Its work was strong across the board but particularly so for its largest clients BYD and Scape. In 2026, BYD would move its account to WPP Media but this is outside the Agency Scorecards judging period.
Yango’s ‘Challenger to Champion’ campaign for BYD, helped the automaker ship more than 30,000 vehicles, placing the Chinese manufacturer as Australia’s eighth best-selling car brand.
The campaign also secured the Silver Effectiveness Cairns Crocodile Award.
And for Scape, Yango deployed a conversational ad unit solution across YouTube, Twitch and social platforms that generated increased attention and helped drive a 26 per cent year-on-year jump in booking revenue.
During the year the Indie also launched Yango Creator, a dedicated new division specialising in end-to-end influencer advertising solutions for brands.
Yango Creator empowers brands to navigate the influencer landscape. From strategy development and influencer identification to campaign execution, content management, and robust performance measurement, Yango Creator provides a service designed to deliver business outcomes.
The new division is being led by Eb Yusuf, who was promoted to general manager, strategy, culture and insights earlier in the year.
Formerly head of strategy, Yusuf’s expanded remit encompasses the critical areas of content creator partnerships and advanced research and insights, in addition to her continued leadership of the agency’s strategic output.
However, not every performance can be as seamless as Freddie Mercury’s at Live Aid in 1985. Yango did encounter a hiccup, losing the Multigate Medical media account which moved in-house.
