B&T’s Agency Scorecards have returned for a third year. And after acing the traditionally difficult second album, we’re back with an all-singing, all-dancing twist.
This year B&T has assembled an Advisory Panel composed of the industry’s leading consultants and experts across a variety of sectors, practices and more.
As with last year and the year before, each scorecard is marked on how an agency has performed against its previous years, with the aim of tracking an agency’s performance over time. This is not an exercise in pitting agencies against one another.
Our Advisory Panel has brought even greater rigour to our deep, industry-leading analysis of agencies.
The panel:
- Sangeeta Leach, founding director, The Leach Partnership
- Peter Coffey, partner, Enth Degree
- Mark Leone, partner, MadClarity
- Paul Murphy, MD Australia and New Zealand, Ebiquity
- Darren Woolley, founder and global CEO, Trinity P3
- Venessa Hunt, CEO, Fixer & Future
- Chris Savage, founder, The Savage Company
- Jen Davidson, managing partner, Tumbleturn Marketing Advisory
- Virginia Hyland, CEO, Squad M&A
We convened in May at GumGum’s splendid Sydney office to run the rule over agency performance across five main criteria:
- New business success,
- Business performance (i.e. how well each agency managed its own financials),
- The quality of work and accolades received,
- People and HR policies,
- Leadership and innovation shown in the industry.
The Advisory Panel scored across each and then gave a final mark. B&T had the job of collating and sense-checking all the scores before having the final say.
Pleasingly, no one on the panel came to blows and there was significant alignment between all.
As such, you’ll see this year that agencies are given more granular scores out of 10 and to one decimal point. Last year, we awarded either whole numbers out of 10 or half marks.
To be clear, the scores are broadly comparable year-on-year, but this approach sets the Agency Scorecards up for success in the years to come.
We’re kicking off today with Bastion and Speed’s Agency Scorecards. With more than 50 agencies to get through, the project will run through June.
When will your agency’s run? You’ll need to keep your eyes glued to B&T.
